The year is 2016. Drake released "One Dance," Moonlight won the Oscar for Best Picture, and our fashion sense was, well, something.

Everyone was scrambling to score a Kylie lip kit, our brows were big and blocky, and we rocked a full face of makeup (including a fierce cut crease) to class and to work.

The only acceptable shoes were a pair of Adidas Superstars, we tied flannel shirts around our waists, and you couldn’t go to a party without seeing at least ten girls wearing chokers.

It’s been 10 years since 2016 (let that sink in), and it seems everyone is reminiscing on that iconic year. And we'd go as far as declaring that 2016 style isn't just trending, it's totally back.

Between a heavy 90s influence (think ripped mom jeans and flannel) and streetwear going mainstream, there are tons of hallmark pieces that defined 2016. But these are the most wearable—and most nostalgic—pieces that you can still wear today.

Abercrombie Bra-Free Off-The-Shoulder Long-Sleeve Top

If there was one thing that everybody owned in 2016, it was an off-the-shoulder top. This minimalist long-sleeve option has built-in padding so you can go bra-free.

ASOS Design Multi-Row Choker with Faux Sparkly Crystal

An off-the-shoulder shirt left plenty of room to show off a the necklace of 2016: a choker. If you weren't rocking a black velvet one, you were definitely wearing a blinged-out version like this sparkly crystal option.

Kylie Cosmetics Matte Lip Kit

The fact that Kylie Cosmetics still sells their iconic lip kits just shows how great these products really are. This duo includes a matte long-wear liquid lip and a matching creamy lip liner. The shades Koko K, Posie K, and Candy K are the most nostalgic.

Adidas Superstar II Shoes

Adidas was the most-loved athletic brand of 2016, and that includes their shoes. You were probably either rocking a pair of Stan Smith's or these Superstars with their recognizable triple stripe design.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade

Unpopular opinion: the Anastasia brow pomade was actually a good product, we just didn't know how to use it correctly. This time around, use a micro angled brush to apply thin strokes of the creamy waterproof product

High-Waisted OG Loose Ripped Jeans

If your jeans weren't ripped, you weren't cool. This distressed pair is right on trend, especially because it has high-waisted design akin to the 'mom jeans' everyone was gravitating towards.

AE Plaid Button-Up Shirt

Flannel button-ups will always be cool. You might not wear them tied around your waist anymore, but they're still add a laidback and grungy feel to any outfit.

Kelly & Katie Krus Over-The-Knee Boot

Over-the-knee boots will never go out of style, but back in 2016, we preferred them in suede with block heels, and tie details at the back.

Smashbox X BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter

In terms of highlighter (which we applied so heavily that it was visible from space), Champagne Pop by Becca was the GOAT. The pressed highlighter delivers a luminous glow and has a soft gold hue with pinky-peach pearlescent undertones.

ASOS Design Oversized Bomber Jacket

I was guilty of owning a bomber jacket back in 2016. Between the oversized fit and neutral hue, this pick is honestly pretty timeless.

BDG Knockout Long Sleeve Tie Front Crop Top

You definitely had a criss-cross, lace-up top, like this one made from a soft modal blend, in your wardrobe.

The "granny blouse" is the prettiest top to pair with jeans right now. Shop the best picks, starting at $14.
