A 33-year-old man who went missing on Lamma on Thursday returned home on Sunday night without injuries, hours after Hong Kong authorities launched a search on the outlying island.
Chan Kai-hung was previously last seen at Yung Shue Wan Public Pier on the morning of July 25, and his family reported him missing to police on Saturday.
A police spokesman said the force and the Fire Services Department launched their search at about 4pm on Sunday in the area between Yung Shue Wan and Sok Kwu Wan, also known as Picnic Bay.
On Sunday night, police said the man had returned home and was unharmed. The case did not involve any suspicious circumstances.
The Post learned the part-time renovation worker had been living in Tsz Wan Shan and told people at his work he was very stressed last week.
At 7am on Thursday, he sent a text message to a friend bidding him farewell and asking the person to take a picture for him at Mount Fuji in Japan. He was not accessible afterwards.
The weather over the weekend was poor, with an amber rainstorm warning issued on Saturday and Sunday morning.
