Russia has been sharing intelligence with Iran about the location of US forces in the Middle East in an attempt to help Tehran fight back against “Operation Epic Fury”.
The Kremlin has passed the Islamic Republic the locations of American warships, aircraft, and other military assets since American and Israeli airstrikes began Feb. 28, three sources told the Washington Post Friday.
“It does seem like it’s a pretty comprehensive effort,” one official familiar with the intelligence told the outlet.
Two US officials told the Associated Press that there was no evidence that Moscow was directing Iran on what to do with the information provided.

Despite the Russian assistance, President Trump and War Secretary Pete Hegseth have both declared that the US military has established “total dominance” over Iran — and that the Islamic Republic has already “lost everything.”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt initially addressed the report in an interview with Fox News’ “America Reports” Friday afternoon, saying: “I’ll leave that to the president to answer himself. But what I will tell you, we don’t comment on intelligence reports that are leaked to the press. Whether or not this happened, frankly, it does not really matter, because President Trump and the United States military are absolutely decimating the rogue Iranian terrorist regime.”
Moments later, when Leavitt was asked about the report again, she answered: “It clearly is not making a difference with respect to the military operations in Iran because we are completely decimating them.
“We are achieving the military objectives of this operation and that is going to continue,” she added
The Kremlin has denounced the attack on Iran as “a preplanned and unprovoked act of armed aggression against a sovereign and independent UN member state.”
The Washington Post report comes after the Trump administration has repeatedly and unsuccessfully tried to negotiate an end to Russia’s four-year-old invasion of Ukraine, with Moscow relying on Iran for badly needed missiles and drones.
“I think the president would say peace is still an achievable objective,” Leavitt insisted to reporters at the White House Friday.

Between Feb. 28 and March 3, the US and Israel claimed to have hit around 4,000 Iranian targets, according to UK-based Airwars.
That is more targets than in the first six months of the US-led coalition’s bombing campaign against ISIS in the summer of 2014, and nearly double the average number of targets per day claimed by Israel in the first four days of its Gaza war, considered one of the most intense bombing campaigns in the 21st century.

Israel claimed it hit 1,600 targets in the first 24 hours, but the daily rate subsequently dropped, said Airwars, which with a sister organization monitors civilian casualties and the use of munitions.
The increase in targets hit per day has been facilitated by the extensive use of artificial intelligence in targeting by Israel’s military. AI is likely feeding the US target banks as well, Airwars said.
