NEED TO KNOW
Travis and Jason Kelce, is that you?
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 36, and his Philadelphia Eagles star brother, 38, are the latest to take part in the viral 2016 trend on social media, which involves users posting throwback photos of themselves from one decade ago on social media.
The siblings' hit podcast, New Heights, uploaded old photos of the NFL brothers to its official Instagram page on Thursday, Jan. 15. Fans, meanwhile, are in shock at the nearly unrecognizable — and nostalgic! — pictures, which include sweet family moments and bold facial hair.

"I heard we’re throwing it back to 2016," the caption read alongside the Instagram carousel.
The first photo featured Travis and Jason posing with their dad, Ed Kelce, in what appears to be a tropical destination given the trio wearing Hawaiian shirts. The Chiefs star rocked a combover and a beard, while sporting neon yellow pants and a turquoise, floral top.
The second and third slides pictured Jason and Travis, respectively, suited up in their team jerseys. The Eagles star looked surprised in a hilarious personality pic, while the three-time Super Bowl winner posed in his No. 87 jersey and quaffed 'do on the field, during what was his third season with Kansas City.
The fourth photo was a family shot around a Christmas tree, featuring the brothers' parents, Ed and Donna, and Jason's wife, Kylie Kelce, who the Eagles player was still just dating at the time (the two wed in April 2018).

The fifth slide showed Travis swinging a baseball bat, and the sixth slide pictured a dressed-up Jason and Kylie looking deeply into each other's eyes as they held each other close for a photo. The retired NFL player wore a white, button-down shirt, while the mom of four wore a burgundy dress.
A major throwback of Travis was included on the seventh slide, likely a moment snapped from his reality show days as the star of Catching Kelce. There was another still taken from the show included on the final slide.

The second to last image was another family photo, taken at Q39, a famed spot that's regarded as one of the best barbecue restaurants in Kansas City.
A lot has happened for the Kelce brothers in the 10 year since 2016, both personally and professionally.
During that span, Travis won three Super Bowl titles, made tight end history, is contemplating NFL retirement, found love and is preparing to marry fiancée Taylor Swift. Jason, meanwhile, won a Super Bowl, cemented his legacy as one of the greatest centers ever, retired from the Eagles, married Kylie and became a father of four.
The 2016 trend has taken social media by storm, starting almost as soon as the clock struck midnight on Jan. 1, 2026. Users online declared that 2026 is the "new 2016," and shared throwback snaps and videos of themselves from the year — filtered, and all.

The new trend has nostalgia at its heart, as those participating are often expressing a longing for what many are describing as a simpler time. In fact, the hashtag #2016 now has 1.7 million tagged posts on TikTok.
